Diplomacy World Staff Openings

Hi folks!

Right now I am looking for new blood to fill the vacancies in the Diplomacy World Staff ranks.

Effectively, these are the open spots at the moment (a few have people in them but they’re just waiting for someone else to come forward):

Co-Editor: Vacant!!

Strategy & Tactics Editor: Vacant!!

Variant Editor: Vacant!!

Interview Editor: Vacant!!

Club and Tournament Editor: Vacant!!

Technology Editor: Vacant!!
Original Artwork Vacant!!

The positions themselves (except Co-Editor and Artwork) basically mean you will commit to a minimum of three articles per year in your area of focus, and that you will also work to solicit articles from other Diplomacy players.

If you’re interested in any of these and would like more information, or details on Co-Editor or Artwork, please email me at dougray30@yahoo.com

I hope to hear from a few of you in the coming weeks!

I have started building a Diplomacy World Email Mailing List through the service Mailchimp. You can sign up for that mailing list by clicking the following link:

http://eepurl.com/dzKKtT

The reason for starting this Mailchimp list is as follows:

1. Enabling direct contact with DW readers where they can add or drop themselves with ease.

2. My current email mailing list is a mess of 8 “groups” that I have to mail BCC two per day or I get tagged as “spam” by Yahoo and I can’t use Outlook for a day with that account. I need to get rid of that method and replace it with Mailchimp so I can easily communicate news, deadline reminders, and release announcements. (And, potentially, build it into hobby news announcements someday, but maybe not).

3. The oldest and most consistent method of communication is the old Yahoo group. With that being sold, there’s no telling when it will disappear.

If you get your DW news from Facebook and I never use this list for other stuff, you don’t NEED too join. All optional. Unless FB slowly dies off.

Diplomacy World Poll

Poll Question: Is it time to just throw in the towel and fold Diplomacy World? Article contributions are slower than I can remember. I’m just glad we kept things going while Jim-Bob was still around. You can send your answer to me at diplomacyworld@yahoo.com

“It’s Their House, I’m Just a Guest” FREE Through Thursday

My prison memoir “It’s Their House, I’m Just a Guest” is now FREE in Kindle format through Thursday. (You don’t need a Kindle to read it; there are free apps that let you read Kindle books on your phone, tablet, or computer). Spread the word! One of these days I’ll make some more progress on my next memoir (about my first marriage – before, during, and after – and some of the devastating effects of sexual abuse).

Diplomacy World #140 Deadline Reminder

Just a reminder that the deadline for Diplomacy World #140 is one month away (January 1st). If you’re working on anything to contribute to the upcoming issue, please have it done by then. If you want to shoot me an email to let me know what you are working on that would be welcome news too (diplomacyworld@yahoo.com). Since the loss of Jim-Bob Burgess working on the zine is rather bittersweet.

If you played in a tournament or at a convention, why not write about it? If you have one coming up, send me a flyer for it. If you want some ideas for articles, ask away.
